2020 House Bill 5549

Mandate $10,000 per day fine for marijuana market control regime violations

Introduced in the House

Feb. 25, 2020

Introduced by Rep. Graham Filler (R-93)

To mandate that a $10,000 per day fine be imposed on any person who violates rules imposed by the state recreational marijuana market control and licensure regime established by a 2018 initiated law. Note: Because Michigan’s legal marijuana regulatory regime was authorized by a vote of the people on an initiated law, a three-quarter majority of the both the House and Senate is required to make any change.
