2019 Senate Bill 631

Give driver's licenses to undocumented, unverified aliens

Introduced in the Senate

Nov. 5, 2019

Introduced by Sen. Stephanie Chang (D-1)

To require the Secretary of State to issue a driver's license to anyone of age who knows how to drive and can demonstrate they reside in Michigan and can prove their identity, without regard to citizenship or legal residence status. Also, to give a temporary license if the individual cannot prove their identity. The licenses would have to indicate that they are “not valid for official federal purposes”.
