2019 House Bill 4139

Juvenile justice “raise the age” reforms

Introduced in the House

Feb. 6, 2019

Introduced by Rep. David LaGrand (D-75)

To revise the sanctions for violating a personal protection order, so a person less than 18 (instead of less than 17) who is the subject of the PPO would be subject sanctions and dispositions authorized by the juvenile code, rather than being subject to criminal contempt of court. This is part of a broader "raise the age" juvenile justice reform effort.
