To stop authorizing new corporate subsidies under a <a href="https://www.michiganvotes.org/2017-SB-243">2017 law</a> that was intended to give given up to $200 million of state revenue to a Chinese company involved in iPhone manufacture (Foxconn), but was revised to allow the handouts to other corporations and developers selected by state “economic development” agency staffers and political appointees.
