Introduced in the House

March 28, 2011

Introduced by Rep. Mike Callton (R-87)

To require legislators to pay at least 20 percent of the health insurance benefits they are provided while in office. Note: In addition to these benefits, legislators who are in office for at least six years are eligible for full post-retirement health coverage beginning at age 55. The Senate Fiscal Agency reports that the average "family plan" coverage of former legislators costs the state $22,000 per year.
