To create a state “identity theft protection commission,” with the mission of recommending to the governor and legislature changes in state rules, guidelines, procedures, and legislative action related to identity theft prevention; making recommendations to the public on identity theft protection business practices; recommend ways that state agencies and departments can reduce the use of social security numbers; and lobbying Congress for identity theft protection and prevention measures including new laws and business regulations.
