2007 House Bill 4977

Increase school employee military duty “service credits”

Introduced in the House

June 21, 2007

Introduced by Rep. Gino Polidori (D-15)

To remove a six year limit on the number of "service credits" that can be granted or purchased by school employees who were called to active military duties. These service credits count years in the military toward number of years as a school employee need to retire with full pension. The bill would allow school employees with fewer years on the job to draw pension benefits, and would also add post-retirement health benefits to the credit granted for the military service credits.
