2007 House Bill 4697

Expand eligibility for corridor improvement taxing authority

Introduced in the House

May 1, 2007

Introduced by Rep. John Stakoe (R-44)

To revise the eligibility standards in the 2005 Corridor Improvement Authority” law that authorized the creation of local corridor improvement authorities that could levy special assessments (property taxes), borrow, or use tax increment financing to pay for economic development and improvement projects in a commercial district along a road classified as an arterial or collector road. The bill would allow these authorities in an area that does not have municipal water and sewer service, which was required in the 2005 law.
