2006 Senate Bill 1436

Limit access to polling places

Introduced in the Senate

Sept. 14, 2006

Introduced by Sen. Beverly Hammerstrom (R-17)

To prohibit anyone from entering polling places except voters, election officials, and officially approved "challengers" (who are appointed by political parties and are allowed to perform a limited and narrowly defined observer function.) In recent elections some non-partisan political activist organizations have had their members station themselves inside polling places on election day.
