2005 Senate Joint Resolution H

Replace House and Senate with unicameral legislature

Introduced in the Senate

Oct. 5, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Burton Leland (D-5)

To place before voters in the next general election a Constitutional amendment to establish a unicameral legislature (instead of a separate House and Senate) with five members from each of Michigan’s current 15 U.S. House of Representatives districts. These would be subdivided on a population basis into five single-member districts per U.S. House district.
