2005 Senate Bill 793

Require police auto insurance checks

Introduced in the Senate

Oct. 5, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Beverly Hammerstrom (R-17)

To require police officers when they pull over a vehicle to use the real-time system proposed for Senate Bill 791 for cross-checking vehicle registrations and no-fault insurance coverage. Under Michigan’s no-fault insurance law drivers are required to have insurance when they register and operate a vehicle.
