2005 House Bill 4871

Revise county veterans assistance

Introduced in the House

June 7, 2005

Introduced by Rep. David Farhat (R-91)

To revise the law that allows counties to levy a one-tenth mill property tax for the purpose of providing relief to indigent veterans so as to update and broaden the ways in which a county may provide assistance to veterans. The law also allows a county to double the tax levy if the commissioners determine that there is an “emergency.” This provision would be retained.
