2004 Senate Bill 1080

Introduced in the Senate

March 4, 2004

Introduced by Sen. Beverly Hammerstrom (R-17)

To authorize the Department of Community Heath to impose immediate sanctions on the Detroit-Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency (DWCCMH) under provisions of a law that authorizes sanctions for failing to substantially comply with promulgated standards and regulations, misrepresenting or falsifying information reported to the state or federal governments, or failing to provide necessary covered services to recipients under the terms of a contract with the state. Under current law, hearings and administrative procedures must take place before any sanctions. The bill is part of a package comprised of Senate Bills 1076 to 1080 that would reorganize the DWCCMH as a separate authority and change the makeup of its board.
