Mercury regulation package

To prohibit the sale of novelty products containing mercury, and prohibit the sale of any other products containing mercury unless the manufacturer has applied for and been granted an exemption from a general mercury product ban. Exemptions could be granted only if there was no substitute product, and after a public hearing. Banned novelties include products intended for use as a figurine, adornment, toy, game, card, ornament, yard statue or figure, candle, item of jewelry, holiday decoration, item of apparel, or any product intended mainly for personal or household enjoyment.
