Sept. 22, 2004

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.

Dec. 2, 2004

Substitute offered

To replace the previous version of the bill with one that would also prohibit a pawnbroker from accepting any item that customarily bears a serial number unless it is plainly visible on the item. Also, it would establish that licensed precious metal and gem dealers, and secondhand or junk dealers, would not be exempt a person from separate pawnbroker licensure requirements.
