2003 House Bill 5116 / 2004 Public Act 432

Authorize lead paint hazard registry

Introduced in the House

Oct. 2, 2003

Introduced by Rep. Randy Richardville (R-56)

To require the owner of any rental property built before 1978 which has been determined to be free of lead-based paint hazards to register it with the Department of Community Health on a form which identifies the property and describes any lead-based paint activity, including the name of the certified abatement worker and inspector, and the results of any lead-based paint activity. The information would be used to publish a state "lead safe housing registry," which would contain a listing of the registered rental properties and child occupied facilities as described above. The bill is part of a package comprised of House Bills 5115 to 5119.
