2003 House Bill 4653

Introduced in the House

May 7, 2003

Introduced by Rep. Matt Milosch (R-55)

To require school districts to participate in the schools of choice program to the extent they have space available. The schools of choice program allows schools to accept students who choose to transfer from nearby districts. State funding in the form of the per-pupil foundation grant follows the transferring student to the new school. Under current law, a public school may choose not to accept students from another district even if it has space.
