To exempt law enforcement personnel who under current law may carry a concealed pistol without a CCW license, from a provision in the CCW law which does apply to them, and which prohibits carrying a concealed pistol while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, or while having a bodily alcohol content above .02 grams per 100 milliliters of blood, and from the implied consent to submit to chemical analysis (collection of blood, breath, or urine for testing) which applies to citizens who have a license to carry a concealed pistol (CCW). The bill would apply to peace officers, constables, certain Department of Corrections employees, on-duty military personnel, and members of the national guard or reserves while on duty or drill. The bill is part of a legislative package comprised of House Bills 6108 to 6113. See also House Bill 6104.
