To allow the value of a prepaid funeral contract to be combined with the value of a life insurance funded funeral plan, so that the combined maximum value ($9,837 through May 31, 2002) would not be included among a person's assets for purposes of determining eligibility for assistance under Medicaid or welfare. The amount would then be indexed to inflation.
