To require public and charter schools to provide environmental education in each grade on at least 10 days each year. This could be integrated into the curriculum as part of science, social studies, or another subject. The Department of Education would be required to work with the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Quality to develop or identify and approve curricula which must include at least age-appropriate materials on water conservation, energy conservation, recycling, wetland and habitat preservation, and other environmental education topics that the department considers appropriate.
