2018 House Bill 5953: Revise surrendered newborn law details

To revise provisions of the public health code that prescribe procedures for reporting the death of a newborn. The revisions would reflect the proposal in House Bills 5750 and 5751 to authorize using “newborn safety devices” under the “safe delivery of newborns” law enacted in 2000, which provides legal protections to a mother who surrenders a newborn to an emergency service provider (see also House Bill 5750).   Official Text and Analysis.
