To revise provisions of the public health code that prescribe procedures for reporting the death of a newborn. The revisions would reflect the proposal in House Bills 5750 and 5751 to authorize using “newborn safety devices” under the “<a href="http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/1999-2000/billanalysis/House/htm/1999-HLA-5543-B.htm">safe delivery of newborns</a>” law enacted in 2000, which provides legal protections to a mother who surrenders a newborn to an emergency service provider (see also House Bill 5750).
