2015 House Resolution 141

Expel Reps. Gamrat and Courser

Offered in the House

Sept. 9, 2015

Offered by Rep. Ed McBroom (R-108)

To expel freshmen Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat from the House for using government personnel and resources to cover up an extramarital affair, and for other irregularities in the operation of their offices.

Referred to the Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs, and Homeland Security

Sept. 11, 2015

Amendment offered by Rep. Winnie Brinks (D-76)

To require the House to also adopt HR 145, which requests the Attorney General and State Police to investigate possible criminal violations related to this episode. This was reportedly adopted as part of a deal to get Democratic votes for the expulsion.

The amendment passed by voice vote

Adopted in the House 91 to 11 (details)

To expel freshmen Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat from the House for using government personnel and resources to cover up an extramarital affair, and for other irregularities in the operation of their offices. Courser resigned moments before the vote, so the final version only expels Gamrat.
