2015 House Bill 4733: Repeal marriage license, and marriages performed by government officials
Introduced by Rep. Todd Courser R-Silverwood on June 17, 2015
To repeal the state’s marriage license requirement, only allow clergy to “solemnize” marriages (rather than government officials), and recognize “common law” marriages in which the couple files an affidavit of common law marriage containing specified information with the county, rather than (or in addition to) making vows in a formal ceremony.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Government Operations Committee on June 17, 2015
