Gretchen Whitmer (dubbed “<a href="https://www.michiganvotes.org/SearchLegislation.aspx?Results=50&amp;EndDate=12%2F31%2F2022&amp;StartDate=1%2F1%2F2001&amp;Keywords=Michigan+Reconnect&amp;op=Search">Michigan Reconnect</a>”) and partially enacted in 2020, which authorized grants in the amount needed to cover tuition and fees for career-oriented classes at a community college that exceed the amounts covered by other scholarship and government aid.
