Appropriations: Governor’s “omnibus” state budget

The non-education portion of the executive budget recommendation proposed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1, 2021. This would appropriate $67.111 billion, of which $23.358 billion is federal money and the rest comes from state tax and fee payers. Senate Bill 188, the Governor’s omnibus education budget proposal, would authorize another $15.853 billion in spending by the state, of which $1.22 billion is federal.
