2020 Senate Bill 890

Coronavirus epidemic response bills – liquor control code

Introduced in the Senate

April 24, 2020

Introduced by Sen. Ken Horn (R-32)

To permit the state Liquor Control Commission to buy-back unopened bottles of liquor it previously sold to various types of licensees that have been closed by coronavirus epidemic “lockdown” orders. Among other provisions, under Michigan’s extraordinarily detailed and extensive “liquor control” regulatory regime the LCC is the sole state wholesaler of “spirituous liquor”.
