2020 House Bill 5438: Repeal licensure mandate on barbers
Introduced by Rep. Steven Johnson (R) on February 4, 2020
To repeal the occupational licensure mandate imposed on barbers. This prohibits an individual from earning a living in this trade unless he or she takes 1,800 hours of instruction at a “licensed barber college.” License provisions would still apply to the colleges, whose courses would presumably become voluntary instead of effectively mandated.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Regulatory Reform Committee on February 4, 2020
