2019 Senate Bill 434: Authorize rules for cosmetology “mobile salons”
Introduced by Sen. Aric Nesbitt (R) on August 20, 2019
To direct the state licensing bureau to promulgate regulations on “mobile salons” or mobile cosmetology equipment used by different salons. Under current law cosmetology services and salons are subject to an extensive array of state regulatory and licensure requirements. The bill would also authorize reciprocity for individuals with cosmetology licenses from other states where the requirements are "substantially equal" in rigor to Michigan's, and also revise details of other regulations on cosmetologists, salons and cosmetology schools.   Official Text and Analysis.
