2017 House Bill 4678

Juvenile justice revisions

Introduced in the House

May 30, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Martin Howrylak (R-41)

To establish permissible purposes for closing an open meeting of the Department of Corrections family advisory board proposed by House Bill 4677, allowing this for discussions of certain information about a prisoner as specified in the bill. These are among a number of bills in a broader "raise the age" juvenile justice reform effort that would no longer automatically treat minors who commit certain crimes as adults.

Referred to the Committee on Law and Justice

Reported without amendment
