2016 House Bill 5350

Let active military get free credit agency reporting “freeze”

Introduced in the House

Feb. 10, 2016

Introduced by Rep. Robert Kosowski (D-16)

To revise a 2013 law that prohibits credit reporting agencies from releasing information to a third party without prior express authorization from a consumer in certain circumstances (such as identity theft). The bill would expand to allow active-duty military personnel to get a “freeze” for themselves with no charge.
