2016 House Bill 5312: Create limited exception to Tesla sales ban
Introduced by Rep. Aaron Miller (R) on February 3, 2016
To allow Tesla to sell cars directly to a Michigan resident who does not live within 10 miles of a new car dealership that sells other brands. Current Michigan law prohibits car makers from selling directly to consumers, and imposes a protectionist regulatory regime in which the state enforces exclusive new car dealer “territories”.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Commerce and Trade Committee on February 3, 2016
