2015 Senate Bill 628

Authorize “photo-cop” and license suspension for not paying toll road toll

Introduced in the Senate

Dec. 1, 2015

Introduced by Sen. Mike Kowall (R-15)

To authorize the use of automated, unmanned traffic monitoring devices for issuing tickets to individuals who fail to pay the toll on a toll road or pay other user fees as proposed by Senate Bill 627. Citations (tickets) would be sent by mail for up to nine months after the violation, and penalties for non-payment include drivers license suspension. The bill would have the effect of allowing the “parternship agreements” that SB 627 would create to garnish wages, impound vehicles, attach liens to property and more in pursuit of unpaid tolls.
