2009 Senate Bill 483 / Public Act 70

Revise bear and bobcat hunt detail

Introduced in the Senate

April 28, 2009

Introduced by Sen. Jason Allen (R-37)

To revise a detail a 2008 law that eliminated the requirement that a person who participates in a bobcat or bear hunt with dogs but who does not carry a gun or shoot an animal must still have a hunting license. Currently, the law specifies that the non-shooter must not “own or possess” the dogs. The bill would strike out the word “possess”.
