2007 Senate Bill 280

Senate Roll Call 407: Passed

To require a Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance policy that covers dependent children to permit continuation of the coverage for the child until he or she reaches age 26, even if he or she is not considered a dependent. The bill imposes a price cap on the cost of the continuation coverage. Also, to exempt any Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance plan approved for offering though the subsidized “MI HEART insurance exchange" proposed by Senate Bill 278 from the many particular coverage mandates that have been imposed on health plans over the years.
