2019 House Bill 4029

Authorize “constitutional carry” of concealed pistols (repeal licensure)

Introduced in the House

Jan. 10, 2019

Introduced by Rep. Steven Johnson (R-72)

To repeal the requirement to get a government permit to carry a concealed pistol for individuals who are not otherwise prohibited from possessing a pistol. A person could still get a concealed pistol permit, which would exempt him or her from the ban on carrying a pistol in certain “gun free zones” (schools, day care facilities, sports stadiums or arenas, bars, bar/restaurants, places of worship, college dorms and classrooms, hospitals, casinos, large entertainment facilities and courts). Those without a carry license would still be banned from carrying in these zones. See also House Bill 4026.
