2021 Senate Bill 278

Republican election rules package

Introduced in the Senate

March 24, 2021

Introduced by Sen. Michael MacDonald (R-10)

To prescribe procedures, reporting and record retention requirements for local election officials collecting voter ballots from an absent voter ballot drop box. Among other things this would require ballots to be immediately returned to the clerk's office when collected and transported in an approved ballot container, with specified record keeping requirements. Senate Bill 273 also passed, which among other things would require a video recording device to monitor each drop box location. This is part of a Republican election integrity package comprised of Senate Bills 273 to 311.
