2019 House Bill 4978

Have state buy drugs in Canada

Introduced in the House

Sept. 17, 2019

Introduced by Rep. Tommy Brann (R-77)

To require the state to launch a program to buy prescription drugs at wholesale in Canada, in cases where doing so is expected to generate cost savings for the state. Unlike Senate Bill 525, a similar proposal aimed at consumers, the focus of this bill appears to be finding cost savings in government medical welfare programs.
