Mandate additional charter school restrictions, requirements and disclosures

To prohibit a charter school board from entering a contract with an educational management organization that has any business affiliation with a “charter school developer,” or with a person who has an ownership interest in one, or a business entity owned or controlled by one. Also, to prohibit a charter school from giving a contract to an education management company if anyone connected with the company has served on a charter school board in the past two years. The bill defines "charter school developer" as an individual or entity that submitted the application to open and operate a charter school.
