To revise the statutory definition of criminal recidivism, making it “the rearrest, reconviction, and reincarceration in prison or jail of an individual within three to five years of his or her release” from a previous term or probation period. Also, to establish that state records on this issue must separate the data on technical parole and probation violations from data on new felony and misdemeanor convictions.

This is part of package that includes Senate Bills 5 to 24.
