2017 House Bill 4664

Revise juvenile justice age considerations

Introduced in the House

May 30, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Chris Afendoulis (R-73)

To revise the definition of adult in a 2016 law that established standards and a process for prescribing statewide standards for court-appointed counsel to indigent individuals accused of committing a crime. The bill changes the definition of adult from age 17 to age 18, and is part of a broader "raise the age" juvenile justice reform effort.

Referred to the Committee on Law and Justice

Nov. 28, 2018

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (H-2) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
