2013 Senate Bill 14

Replace gas tax with higher sales tax

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 16, 2013

Introduced by Sen. Howard Walker (R-37)

To repeal the state motor fuel tax (gas tax), and replace it with a 1 percent sales tax increase that would be earmarked to roads. This bill is the repealer, and cannot become law unless House Joint Resolution A also does, which contains the sales tax hike, and would require a vote of the people.
