2007 Senate Bill 66

Authorize three-year pupil count

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 24, 2007

Introduced by Sen. Tupac Hunter (D-5)

To use a three-year average pupil count to establish the amount of per-pupil state aid for school districts with declining enrollment. Currently, state funding is based on a formula combining current year and prior year pupil counts. Only smaller districts are now allowed to use a three-year average, which increases the amount of funding for declining districts.
