To authorize penalties for operating as a residential builder or maintenance and alteration contractor without a license of up to one year in prison and a $25,000 fine for a first offense, two years for a second offense, and four years for a third offense, plus forfeiture of assets. The bill also authorizes the Attorney General and the state Department of Labor and Economic Growth to bring action against an unlicensed builder, and makes other changes to this licensure law.
