2007 Senate Bill 266

House Roll Call 214: Passed

To establish new licensure standards, procedures and fees for household movers, including moral character considerations. The bill would eliminate existing price controls on moves of less than 40 miles (but leave these price controls in place for longer moves); eliminate the requirement that a company show a "need" in an area in order to get a license; establish that movers are liable for broken items based on the value of items rather that a statuory schedule; and extend the licensure and regulations that now applies only to moves of eight miles or more to all moves.
