To authorize in statute certain interdepartmental transfers of road tax dollars to the Department of Treasury and the Secretary of State. See also Senate Bill 554, which includes a number of license fee increases, and would authorize a new fund to use that increased revenue to replace part of the road tax money now transferred to these departments. The bill would place a $20 million cap on the amount of state road tax dollars that can be transferred to the Secretary of State to reimburse the expense of operating the vehicle and driver licensure program.
