To permit the legislature to annually appropriate a maximum of $6 million from the corpus of the Game and Fish Protection Trust Fund for operating the game and fish program. Currently, the corpus of the Trust fund is restricted from being used for these purposes. The bill also establishes a joint legislative work group on game and fish program revenue. The work group shall issue a report by September 30, 2002, which addresses tax credit issues and alternative funding options to establish stable sources of long-term financial support for game and fish protection programs.
