This resolution proposes an amendment to the 1963 state constitution of Michigan, specifically amending section 13 of article IV, to limit the legislative session. According to the proposed amendment, except for extraordinary occasions, the Michigan legislature would convene annually on the second Wednesday in January and must adjourn by a date set by concurrent resolution. Additionally, starting from the 2025-2026 legislative session, the legislature would be limited to meeting for no more than 150 days in total over a two-year period. Any pending business at the end of a session in an odd-numbered year would carry over to the next session.
