2022 Senate Bill 922

Democratic union/labor package – let union bargain against privatization

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 24, 2022

Introduced by Sen. Sean McCann (D-20)

To repeal a ban on public school schools bargaining with employee unions over various school management issues such as layoff policies, school calendars, and much more. This would also let unions demand bans on outsourcing non-instructional services, reverting instead to a system that saw the health insurance company associated with the state’s largest teachers union get all the school health insurance business.
