2021 Senate Bill 102

Expand school lunch payment restrictions

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 4, 2021

Introduced by Sen. Jim Ananich (D-27)

To prohibit a public school from publicly identifying a student who can’t pay or owes money for a school lunch by requiring the student to have a wristband, handstamp, alternative meal, or by requiring the student to perform chores or other work. Schools would also have to provide a “US Department of Agriculture reimbursable meal” to any student who requests a meal, regardless of a pupil's ability to pay.
