2020 House Bill 5887

End limits on unemployment benefits to some school workers

Introduced in the House

June 23, 2020

Introduced by Rep. Vanessa Guerra (D-95)

To revise the portion of the state unemployment insurance law that specifies eligibility for certain low-wage school employees to collect unemployment benefits during the summer months. The bill is part of a legislative package that temporarily waives some limitations on benefits during the coronavirus epidemic, but this bill would delete these provisions altogether.
